The label market using inkjet has exploded in the past few years, and Prism has been a major participant in this market. The reason this market has expanded so rapidly is that printer prices have decreased, with the output quality increasing dramatically. Additionally, it is much easier to print a wide variety of different types of labels for foods, beverages, roll-to-roll and transactional applications.

Prism has been a leader with both its dye and pigment label inks. Since the color gamut is less with pigment and the cost higher, most users prefer dye ink for this application. Users love the incredibly vivid colors and deep blacks produced by the Prism team. Conversely, if there is a requirement for imaging to a certain type of substrate or a need for lightfastness/longevity, pigment is the answer.
